After leaving the University in 1977, and taking inspiration from you amazing dome builders, I went into residential construction, becoming a jack of all trades, [along side Pat Hanlon and Jim Chiles for a time] for 20 years or so.
In my late fifties a spiritual emergency/grief/mid-life crisis took me into a Master’s Degree Program in Jungian/Shamanic/Depth psychology. A serendipitous romantic connection with domie AnnIe Nicksic at a 2002 dome reunion was followed by courtship and marriage and is now going on a very simpatico twenty year union.
After moving to Humboldt County with Annie, I initiated two “Friends of Jung” oriented groups, one in an art process called Soul Collage, and another Jungian studies/discussion group.
Around age 75 I began learning to play the Ukulele and guitar and joined a joyous ukulele/string band of 30 plus seniors playing music for local rest homes, county fairs, as well as other community events.
These days I’m also active in a senior bicycling club, [made easier in my old age by my stable of 3 electric bikes]. I also enjoy eclectic Jung reading. In addition I engage in the “forced” hobby of massive body maintenance, including organic food, vitamins and supplements, [and a calendar full of medical appointments] to just barely keep even with advancing age.
Around the house, I’m found building garden beds, retaining walls, green house, decks, etc.
Annie and i live in an idyllic, beautifully landscaped [gardens by Annie] home with an expansive view of the Eel River Valley, near Eureka, in far northern California Redwood country.
