My Life After Domes
I lived in the domes for one year (1972-1973), then moved on to an apartment in North Davis for my senior year, and then off to law school in Berkeley. After graduating in 1977, I moved to San Francisco where I set up my own practice, doing mostly criminal defense work. I continued to practice law for roughly two decades, spending some years working part-time for a small real estate litigation firm when my kids were small.
My two kids came along in the 1980’s p- son Ethan (b. 1983) and daughter Elise (b. 1988). WE bought a home in Pacifica when Elise was a baby and that’s where I still live.
In the mid 1990’s I shifted careers, getting involved with website development and various other management responsibilities for an organization I helped form, called Davis Dyslexia Association International. (Sounds pretentious but we really do work with people all over the world, providing services in dozens of countries and languages). I am still working in that position today – it is mostly a work-from-home job with flexible hours, so no reason to retire.
My, kids, now i their mid-to-late 30’s, have long since left the nest. My son lives in Seattle with my grandson (Pascal, b. 2010); he works as the spokesperson for the city Department of Transportation, and his wife Beatrice is an emergency room physician and pediatrician. My daugther lives in New York where she heads up the audio / podcast division of a literary and talent agency, and her husband Francis is a program manager at Google.
