Joan & Dan Goff
Let’s see… finished school, got a bachelor’s in philosophy, went to USC and got a master’s in library & information science. I worked at the Art & Architecture slide library at USC for a while and then became the photo librarian for the Los Angeles Times in 1979.
Married Dan Goff in 1980, lived in Mar Vista, near Culver City, until 1987. Had my first daughter, Ali in 1985, quit working to be a full time mommy. Moved to Loomis with the family, better place to raise a child, bought a really awful house on a nice piece of property.
We started remodeling a couple years later and will be finished any day now. We did most of the work ourselves, based on building the Domes. We figured we could do it. And, for the most part, we were right.
My second daughter was born in 1988. The girls and I spent a lot of time on horseback, riding and competing in eventing. I went back to work as a children’s librarian at the City of Roseville half time in 1995.
When the girls were in high school, I went full time and became a branch manager at Roseville. I retired in 2015. I volunteer with the Friends of the Roseville Library, running their book sales.
I quilt quite a bit, garden, craft, read, cook & eat.(Really love to cook & eat!) We travel a bit. We love to camp, ride ebikes & paddle in our canoe. Retirement is the best job ever.
I am still married to Dan. We became grandparents and our kids built a second house on the property.
